- Info: The event was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice and welcomed, as well as relatives of the honoree, and among other invited guests, some of the major figures in Portuguese Justice. Intervened the Minister of Justice, Dr. Francisca Van Dunem and Professor Rui Alarcão, former Rector of the University of Coimbra, which gave the course of the testimony of Dr. António de Almeida Santos in the areas of politics, law and citizenship. The Man and his work has been recalled which, at the time, has been presented the publication which now discloses, entitled "The Law in accordance with the law", containing texts relating to its governance action as Minister of Justice of the 1st Constitutional Government, between July 1976 and January 1978. The event also counted with a musical moment on the Coimbra fado, played by “Grupo Jurídico de Canto e Guitarra de Coimbra”. Law man, Statesman and, by innate vocation, Man of Justice, the relevant reformative action of Dr. António de Almeida Santos as Minister of Justice, the important period of rebuilding institutions face the new democratic experience, post April 25, is inscribed in the memory of all of us and in the recent history of the country. A piece of art to the allusive honored, is exposed from last February 12 at the main entrance of the Ministry of Justice.
